Brazilian soybean exports accelerated in March and totaled 15.8 million tons, according to a report by the National Association of Cereal Exporters, based on data from the National Supply Company. For April, the expectation is for shipments of 14.9 million tons. The port lineup, however, indicates a potential volume of 16.7 million tons, a number that may still be revised in upcoming reports. In the field, the soybean harvest reached 82.1% of the area by the first week of April. The pace is above the average of the last five years, although below that recorded in the same period last year. In Mato Grosso, the main producing state, the work already reaches 99% of the area. In the case of corn, exports follow the typical seasonality of the period, with a decline due to the logistical concentration on soybeans.
