September 2021 marked the best September on record for Spanish wine exports in both value and volume, with a 12.5% increase in value and 19.6% increase in volume compared to the previous year, totaling 260.1 million euros and 197.4 million liters. The first nine months of 2021 saw a 13.3% increase in value and 20.2% increase in volume year-over-year, with overall growth in most product categories, including a notable 43% increase in liquor wine value and volume. Sparkling wines experienced a significant revaluation, with a 21.6% increase in turnover, despite a 4.6% decrease in bottle sales. Bulk wines, on the other hand, saw a 31% increase in volume but only an 8% increase in value, with a falling average price. Must exports also saw strong growth of 30% in value and 26% in volume. Both bottled and bulk wines have experienced growth over the past twelve months, with packaged wines growing more in value and bulk wines growing more in volume.
