In 2019, Mexico achieved its highest food trade surplus in the past 25 years, reaching $8.8 billion. The country's primary food exports include beer, avocados, soft fruits, tomatoes, tequila, paprika, and beef. The Netherlands was the seventh largest export destination for Mexican agri-food products, making it the second most important European export destination after Spain. These findings were highlighted in the Atlas of Panorama Agroalimentario, published by the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
