Sheep breeders in Paraguay have imported over 400 doses of semen from the Texel and Hampshire Down breeds, originally from Great Britain, marking the second purchase following last year's embryo importation. This significant move aims to enhance the genetic quality and productivity of local sheep farms. The semen was acquired by 14 herds and a surplus was quickly sold out, highlighting the demand for advanced breeding materials. This development is anticipated to greatly improve the country's sheep industry by providing a more efficient tool to meet various market demands.
