Thai department stores and supermarkets have reduced the price of bottled palm oil by about 5 baht per litre, from 69-70 baht to 64-65 baht. This is due to a recent decrease in the price of raw palm seeds. The price drop is being monitored by the Internal Trade Department of Thailand, with prices expected to reflect production costs. The global palm oil market is currently experiencing fluctuations due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict's impact on vegetable oil supplies, particularly in Indonesia, the world's largest palm oil exporter. The palm oil crisis is also affecting the prices of other vegetable oils such as soybean and sunflower oil.
