The Brazilian website "g1globo" reported that the list is organized and published annually by the British food company William Reed. This year's list was released on June 19 in Turin, Italy. This year's top spot went to Maido restaurant in Lima, Peru. The restaurant was established by chef Mitsuharu "Micha" Tsumura, offering Japanese cuisine that blends Peruvian and Japanese flavors. Recently, the list of the 51st to 100th positions in the 2025 World's Best Restaurants was revealed, with four Brazilian restaurants making the cut: Tuju (70th place) in São Paulo, A Casa do Porco (83rd place), Evvai (95th place), and Oteque (81st place) in Rio de Janeiro.
