The 'Almazara' program, in collaboration with the Spanish contingent of UNIFIL, the Universities of Extremadura and Zaragoza, and the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, has been implementing efforts to enhance the agricultural sector in several towns in southern Lebanon since 2018. This initiative aims to address local needs and improve agricultural techniques through a comprehensive approach that includes the evaluation of soil, fertilization, pest management, and the enhancement of olive oil quality. The program has been conducting theoretical and practical sessions for local cooperatives and farmers, focusing on various aspects of olive cultivation and the science of olive oil tasting. A round table meeting was held to discuss the program's outcomes and plan future collaborations.
