Spain: The Almería trawling fleet will have 853 additional days to fish

Not everything is always going to be bad news for the Almeria fishing sector, which has its most precious delicacy in the red shrimp. As reported yesterday Thursday afternoon, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food managed to obtain from the European Commission the total of the additional fishing days available for the Mediterranean trawl fleet, which corresponds to the application of the so-called compensation mechanism of the regulation of fishing possibilities in this sea. There will be a total of 853 additional days for the deep-sea red shrimp fishery for those vessels that have voluntarily changed their nets for others with a 50 millimeter mesh, which is more selective.
