The European Commission has imposed a temporary ban on the import of four agricultural crops from Ukraine, including wheat, corn, rapeseed, and sunflower, to five of its member states - Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia - until June 5, 2023, due to logistical issues. However, these countries have committed to lifting their unilateral bans on Ukrainian agricultural imports and have expected financial aid from the EU. The ban may be extended after June 5. Meanwhile, the import of these products from Ukraine will continue to the rest of the EU without restriction. The European Parliament is also set to extend the preferential import of goods from Ukraine.
