The XXVIII International Blueberry Seminar is set to take place in Agadir, Morocco, on September 13 and 14, bringing together international companies in the blueberry cultivation industry. The seminar will cover advancements in technology, machinery, and genetics of new blueberry varieties. Morocco's blueberry cultivation industry is rapidly growing, now covering over 4,000 hectares, with significant foreign investment drawn to the country's water infrastructure investment, tax benefits, trained labor, low costs, and strategic location for exporting to Europe and the Middle East. The industry aims to extend production to 52 weeks through testing of modern varieties, facing competition from Peruvian production in the off-season and Spanish and Portuguese production at the end of the season.
