Colombia's department of Antioquia is actively boosting its beef production sector, aiming to enhance competitiveness and sustainability. The 'Development of the Bovine Meat Cluster in the department of Antioquia' project, led by the Government of Antioquia and in collaboration with various chambers and universities, focuses on improving the sector through sustainable livestock models, genetic improvement, traceability, and access to new markets. Initiatives include projects that support the implementation of silvopastoral systems, eco-livestock district strengthening, and capacity building for actors in the solidarity economy. These initiatives, already underway in key sub-regions, aim to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the bovine meat production chain in Antioquia, with plans for expansion across the department.
