Hungary: The domestic strawberry season started later but with good crop prospects

According to KSH data, 4.7–5.4 thousand tons of strawberries were harvested annually in Hungary in recent years. According to KSH data, Hungary's strawberry imports increased by 5 percent to 4,136 tons in 2022 compared to the previous year, with half of the strawberries coming from Spain. A significant part of deliveries takes place before the Hungarian season, in April-May. A small proportion of the Hungarian strawberry crop is delivered to foreign markets, the fresh product went to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania in the past year.
