[Korean Farmers' News Reporter Gu Jeong-min] The Gochang Watermelon Association (President Kim Yeon-ho) won the grand prize in the evaluation for the 'Highest Quality Agricultural Products Production Zone' organized by the Rural Development Administration. This evaluation was conducted by a panel consisting of the Rural Development Administration, external agricultural experts, and public judges, after two rounds of review, and the Gochang Watermelon Association was selected as the final top zone among seven production zones nationwide. The Gochang Watermelon Association was launched in 2020 by integrating seven crop groups, and currently, 257 members are growing watermelons in 331 hectares. Most members have obtained GAP certification, and through low-carbon livestock and poultry certification, they are pursuing sustainable agriculture.
