In January 2023, Ukraine saw a decrease in the import and export of dairy products such as buttermilk, fermented milk, and cream, with imports down by 33.7% and exports down by 37.3% compared to the same period in the previous year. The majority of these imports were received from Poland, Belgium, and Germany, while the main export destinations were Moldova, the UAE, and Poland. The total cost of imports was $1.4 million, a 17.6% decrease from the previous year, and the total value of exports was $308,000, a 38.7% decrease, notably offset by an almost 40% increase in the export of Ukrainian whey.
