Poland's cattle population saw an increase of 1.1% in 2021, reaching 6,448.3 thousand, but a decrease of 0.1% in the second half of 2022. The number of calves under 1 year old increased by 7.0% from December 2021, while the number of young cattle aged 1-2 years decreased by 11.3%. The stock of cattle aged 2 years and above increased by 6.0%. However, the trade balance for cattle showed unfavorable changes from June 1 to November 30, 2022, with a 29.6% increase in imports and a 16.6% decrease in exports. Over half of the cattle are concentrated in three voivodeships: Mazowieckie, Wielkopolskie, and Podlaskie.
