The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia has recognized Lampung Province for achieving the highest rice production in the country during the 2019-2020 season. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will present an award to Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi in recognition of the province's significant contribution to national food production. Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lampung saw a 22.47% increase in rice production in 2020, reaching 2.65 million tons of dry milled grain. The province also supports about 40% of DKI Jakarta's food product needs, contributing to its own economic growth, with economic growth rates of 3.04% and 6.69% in the first and second quarters of 2021, respectively, the highest in Sumatra.
