A new breeding sheep production facility has been established in Sındırgı, Balıkesir, in partnership with the Metropolitan Municipality and the Sındırgı municipality, with the goal of reproducing Balıkesir's registered Balıkesir lamb. The facility, spread over 11,930 square meters, has an initial capacity of 800 and is currently housing 200 breeding sheep and 12 lambs. The number of curly sheep in Sındırgı has surpassed 80 thousand, thanks to support from various agencies and breeding activities. The facility's environmental planning is still in progress, with plans to expand by building a second animal pen. The initiative aims to increase the production of Balıkesir lamb and support citizens in animal husbandry, ultimately enhancing the income of local residents.
