The President of the Gaziantep Trade Exchange (GTB) Board, Mehmet Akıncı, announced that the olive harvest has begun in Gaziantep and its surroundings. Emphasizing that the olive is a critical product for Gaziantep not only agriculturally but also economically, GTB President Akıncı stated that olive is the agricultural product providing the most added value to the regional economy after pistachio. Highlighting the importance of olive in Gaziantep and regional agriculture, Akıncı said, "In our city, olive, which is the second most produced after Antep pistachio, is both a source of livelihood for our farmers and one of the lifeblood of the regional economy."
