The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia has successfully connected Vietnamese businesses with a contract to export 10 containers of ST25 rice to Vanuatu, a new market in Europe. The office has also agreed on future shipments, with potential total demand reaching thousands of tons. The office is promoting Vietnamese rice grains to customers in Vanuatu, and has a strategy to make Vietnamese rice known and connected to widespread distribution systems. The office is also supporting Vietnamese exporters and deploying activities to connect with relevant parties in the US. The Ministry of Industry and Trade reports a decrease in export turnover in the first quarter of 2023, with the domestic business sector decreasing more sharply compared to the foreign invested sector. Solutions have been proposed such as supporting trade promotion and connecting trade and disseminating market information.
