The leadership of the Association of Potato Growers of Moldova hopes that large farmers will reconsider plans to reduce the area under potato sowing this year. Back in the fall of 2021, about a third of all large potato farmers growing this crop on dozens of hectares announced plans to partially reorient themselves to grain production. However, due to the autumn drought, the area of winter crops for the 2022 crop as a whole in the country did not increase, but decreased by almost 100 thousand hectares.
