The Animal Disease Analysis Committee of the Region of Murcia, meeting yesterday Monday, has evaluated the current epidemiological situation of diseases such as bluetongue, avian influenza, nodular dermatosis, and African swine fever. In the meeting, it was highlighted that on December 15, the seasonally vector-free period for bluetongue begins, "with vaccination being strongly recommended as it is the most suitable time," explained the Director General of Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries Production, Juan Pedro Vera. It was also emphasized that the Region of Murcia, along with the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, is one of the only autonomous communities without wild cases of avian influenza.
