SOMOS MAR As agreed by the Consellería do Mar with the provincial federations of fishermen's guilds, the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) published this Monday the new criteria that will be applied to individuals seeking to obtain an exploitation permit (pérmex) for clam digging on foot. In the resolution text, Mar explains that the scoring system that had been in place for evaluating applications submitted to a procedure—established by a resolution from 2013—favored ties, which led, more often than desired, to having to resolve the allocation through a lottery in the presence of the pérmex applicants. In the new metric for the situation and aptitude of the candidates, being unemployed gives points, but not as many as in the previous criteria.
