Farmers in the Selendi district of Manisa, Turkey, have started planting tobacco seedlings on 50 thousand decares of land, marking the return of tobacco cultivation after a long absence due to quota restrictions. About 3,000 farmers are involved in the planting, eager to leverage the district's suitability for tobacco growth to produce the highest quality of the crop. The Selendi Chamber of Agriculture has expressed optimism, highlighting tobacco as a key economic and cultural aspect of the region and acknowledging the challenges and demands of the tobacco farming industry.
