The Farmers' Union has demanded a change in regulations to prevent the labeling of products as black truffle (Tuber melanosporum) if they do not actually contain it and instead use substitute or imitation aromas. The agricultural organization has explained that "much of the produce marketed in Spain under the name 'with black truffle' does not use Tuber melanosporum, the most gastronomically prized species, and in many cases it does not even contain real truffle or contains ridiculous amounts."
