Chestnut vendors in Eskişehir, Turkey, have begun setting up shop as the year draws to a close, following the October and November harvest. The traditional winter food is becoming increasingly popular as the New Year approaches, with sales expected to be three to four times higher than usual. Hikmet Karagöz, a vendor in Eskişehir, mentioned the high demand and the effort needed to meet it. The price for 100 grams of cooked chestnuts is 20 liras (approximately $1.35).
