The harvest season for the artichokes from the Nilüfer district of Bursa, Turkey, which have a geographical indication and are famous for their quality, has commenced. These artichokes are grown on over 250 decares of land in Hasanağa and are known for their superior quality and higher oil content compared to artichokes from other regions. The production volume is around 250-300 thousand artichokes per year. Omer Çinkaya, a local producer, explained that the artichokes require frequent irrigation and specific conditions to maintain their quality. The artichokes undergo a peeling process and are then vacuum-packed and sold. The productivity this year is slightly higher than last year due to the recent rainy weather.
