Teams from the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Turkey have vaccinated and tagged the animals on Mada Island in BEYŞEHİR Lake. The island, home to around 180 people, relies on fishing, agriculture, and animal husbandry, with 952 cattle and 1200 ovine animals. The vaccinations and tagging are done to protect animal health and welfare, prevent diseases, and allow farmers to benefit from state supports. The animals are vaccinated for FMD and PPR twice a year, and newborn animals are tagged for identification and to ensure farmers can benefit from state supports.
