Senacsa seeks to prevent avian influenza from reaching Paraguay

Considering that the advance of avian influenza in the world and, recently, in the American continent, specifically Colombia and Mexico, puts the poultry industry, the livelihoods of producers, international trade and the health of birds at risk , Paraguay also seeks to address this situation through biosecurity measures for better control of the disease. In this sense, Senacsa published a series of points to consider in the face of the possible presence of avian influenza in our country. Thus, it is recommended to restrict the access of people and vehicles outside the establishment, prevent poultry from coming into contact with birds and wild animals, the sheds and/or chicken coops must have protection (anti-bird mesh fabric), in addition it is advisable to clean and disinfect the facilities, avoid handling unprotected sick birds and carry out proper management of waste and mortality.
