Paraguay is taking steps to protect its poultry industry from avian influenza, following the disease's spread in Colombia, Mexico, and other countries. Senacsa has issued guidelines including restricting access to establishments, separating poultry from wild animals, and regularly cleaning and disinfecting facilities. The disease, spread by direct or indirect contact with contaminated surfaces, can cause symptoms such as ruffled plumage, nasal secretions, and difficulty walking in affected birds.
