The Nébih State Fishermen's Service has imposed a ban on the marketing of over 70 kilos of frozen fish products, including carp, perch, and mullet, due to their unknown origin. The ban was enforced after inspections at fish shops in Mohács and Paks revealed that the fish, labeled as from the Danube, lacked the necessary catch certificates. The service has also banned the marketing of over 60 kg of frozen carp, perch, and mullet from the same shops for the same reason. The owners of the shops are being prosecuted, and fines of up to HUF 500,000 may be imposed. The public is encouraged to report any fishing, fishing product, or aquatic animal trade irregularities to the service's email address.
