In the first half of 2021, Peru's fishery exports experienced a significant rebound, with traditional exports reaching $1.32 billion, a 173.3% increase from the previous year, and non-traditional exports bringing in $815 million, a 66% increase. The pandemic's impact was evident in the previous year, with traditional exports falling by 56.8% and non-traditional exports by 39.5%. China emerged as the leading market for both traditional and non-traditional exports, followed by Canada, Japan, Belgium, and Denmark for traditional exports, and the United States, Spain, South Korea, and Japan for non-traditional exports. Notable increases were seen in the exports of fishmeal, fish liver oil, frozen fish, and other products. Overall, Peru's traditional exports surged by 50.70% to $17,229 million, and non-traditional exports rose by 38.9% to $7,116 million compared to the same period in the previous year.
