Van, a city in Turkey, is utilizing its dams and fresh water resources to produce trout, contributing significantly to the local economy. With around 38 facilities in various districts, the city produces approximately 3,000 tons of trout and 28 million trout fry annually. The Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry is actively inspecting these facilities and providing support to the trout breeders. The province has provided grant support to 24 breeders and is planning to expand the production capacity. The trout is not only consumed within the city but also sold to neighboring provinces, generating around 180 million liras in economy.
