The Turkish aquaculture industry, with an annual production of 780,000 tons of aquatic products worth $1.481 billion in 2020, is expected to grow due to government support and increasing demand for aquaculture equipment and medicines. The industry, which accounts for 53% of the total production, is seeking to attract foreign companies, including Korean ones, for sustainable growth. Despite being the ninth largest producer of aquaculture in the world, Turkey imports a significant amount of fish feed and ozone generators annually. The government is also taking steps towards sustainable growth and diversifying farmed fish species.
