The Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association (DKİB) has reported that Turkey exported 337 tons of anchovy in the first two months of the year, generating an income of $1,663,260. Belgium was the top buyer, followed by France and the USA. Spain saw the biggest increase in purchases. Unlike the previous year, anchovy was also exported to Italy, Kenya, and Syria. The aquaculture and animal products sector's exports totaled $3.6 billion despite the low harvest of anchovy and high prices at the start of the 2021-2022 fishing season.
