Turkish honey exports brought 18.8 million dollars

Honey exports from Turkey in the January-May period increased by 68 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 18 million 791 thousand 662 dollars. Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan told Anadolu Agency (AA) that honey is exported to 50 countries in 5 months of the year. Expressing that 7 thousand 294 tons of honey was exported in the January-May period, Gürdoğan stated that 18 million 791 thousand 662 dollars were gained from the said exports. Stating that 11 million 162 thousand 292 dollars were obtained from the export of 3 thousand 57 tons of honey in the same period of last year, Gürdoğan said, "Honey exports increased by 139 percent in quantity and 68 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous year.
