Ireland remained the leading supplier of fresh/frozen beef to the UK, with shipments totaling 12,400 tonnes in August, despite a 27% decrease from the previous year. Other notable suppliers included Germany, Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay. UK exports of fresh and frozen beef to the EU experienced growth, largely due to the depreciation of the GB pound and the normalization of trade post-Brexit. However, there was a significant decrease in exports to the Philippines, Hong Kong, the United States, and Senegal. Ireland continued to be the UK's primary export partner, followed by Canada, Ghana, and Japan. Overall, imports into the UK were up 8,800 tonnes from the same period in 2021, while exports were up 20,100 tonnes, reaching 152,300 tonnes and 83,700 tonnes respectively from January to August.
