The British Food & Drink Federation reported a 16% decrease in total food and drink exports in the first half of this year, amounting to approximately 4.9 billion pounds, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Brexit. Specifically, beef exports saw a 25% decrease, pork exports dropped by nearly 20%, chicken exports fell by almost 18%, and mutton exports decreased by 4%. Despite these declines, whiskey and salmon exports to the EU actually increased. Ireland, France, and the Netherlands were the top three EU markets for English food and drink products.
