In 2022, Ukraine saw a 7% increase in soybean production, reaching 3.7 million tons across 1.5 million hectares. The country also produced 658,000 tons of non-Genetically Modified (non-GM) soybeans, marking 17.5% of the total production and meeting sustainability principles as per the 'Danube Soya' Association. This growth is attributed to the Protein Partnership Program, which has stimulated sustainable non-GM soybean production for European deliveries, with investments in agricultural knowledge and certification of farmers and elevators in various countries. The EU is set to enforce new regulatory rules for the supply of raw materials risking forests and ecosystems in 2024.
