The Ukrainian viticulture and winemaking industry is preparing for large-scale reforms aimed at implementing European standards and reducing state pressure on businesses. Representatives of the government, deputies, and entrepreneurs discussed the main aspects of the upcoming transformations during a specialized discussion. The basis of the changes will be the Law of Ukraine "On Grapes, Wine, and Products of Viticulture," which will come into effect on January 1, 2026. The document aligns Ukrainian norms with the requirements of the European Union, covering all stages: from the classification of grape varieties to the rules of labeling and the protection of geographical indications. According to Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Vysotskyi, the new legislative base changes the philosophy of the relationship between the state and producers.
