September beef exports experienced a surge in major Asian markets, with the exception of China/Hong Kong, reaching higher levels than the previous year, alongside strong demand in Mexico and Central America, marking the largest shipments in 18 months. Japan, Taiwan, and Korea witnessed notable growth in beef imports, with Taiwan's imports showing a remarkable rebound. Mexico continued to be the largest volume market for U.S. beef exports, seeing a 20% increase from the previous year. Despite a slow start, beef exports to Taiwan have significantly recovered in the second and third quarters. Meanwhile, lamb exports in September hit the lowest of the year, with a 32% decrease from the previous year in volume and a 27% decrease in export value. However, despite the decline in September, overall January-September lamb exports saw a 13% increase in volume and a 17% increase in value, with shipments to various countries including Mexico and the Caribbean experiencing growth.
