Uzbekistan: Melon exports from May to July 2023 decreased compared to last year

In the first three months since the beginning of the melon export season from Uzbekistan, the volume of shipments of this product to foreign markets was 22% less than the record figure for the same period last year, EastFruit analysts say. The current export season of Uzbek melon started in the first ten days of May with the start of deliveries of early melon varieties to foreign markets. According to preliminary trade statistics, in May-July 2023, the volume of exports of these products amounted to 17.1 thousand tons for a total of $6.4 million, which is 22% less in physical terms than the same period last year. However, in May-July 2022, Uzbekistan exported a record volume of melons, which is several times higher than the same period in previous years.
