Uzbekistan: Sweet peppers more than doubled in price in a week

Over the past week, wholesale prices for green sweet peppers in Uzbekistan have fallen by more than 2 times, and an almost twofold decrease is observed in the dynamics of wholesale prices for red sweet peppers over the past two weeks. According to market participants, this is due to a sharp increase in the supply of open ground crops, EastFruit analysts say. According to EastFruit price monitoring, from June 23 to June 30, 2023, the average wholesale price for sweet green peppers decreased from 7,000 to 3,000 sum/kg (from $0.61 to $0.26), i.e. 2.3 times. At the same time, current wholesale prices are significantly lower than last year's levels.
