BOXTEL – Food company Vion Food Group has reached an agreement with buyers for two of its German locations. The slaughterhouses located in southern Germany in Crailsheim and Waldkraiburg are being sold to two different companies. Vion is completely withdrawing from Germany and is still looking for suitable takeover candidates for the other locations. Earlier, the German government blocked the acquisition of all Vion activities in Germany by Premium Food Group. Since then, the company has been looking for other candidates. The sale is part of a strategic reorganization where the company will focus entirely on its activities in the Benelux. Takeover candidates The slaughterhouse in Crailsheim is being sold to Boeser Frischfleisch, a German meat company that specializes in processing and boning pork for the retail and food industry.
