Sharp rise in calf imports from Ireland to Netherlands

Irish calves are being transported to the Netherlands, with the journey taking an average of three days, during which the calves spend 18 hours on a boat. The new chairman of Adema, a Belgian animal welfare organization, wants to reduce the transport time for young animals and believes that these transports should be minimized. However, Wakker Dier, an animal rights organization, has observed that these measures are not being implemented in practice.
