Turkey: Walnuts produced in Bilecik are sold all over the country

Bilecik, which has natural environment features such as climate and fertile soil, has suitable areas for walnut cultivation. In the province, where 2 thousand 381 tons of walnut production was realized last year, around 3 thousand 500 tons of walnut production is expected this year. In Bilecik, which ranks seventh in Turkey in walnut cultivation, producers in Gölpazarı district, where production is the most, started to set up systematically gardens using new techniques. In the village of Büyükbelen, which is 14 kilometers away from the district, at an altitude of 1000, the producers go to their gardens early in the morning, collect the walnuts they shake on the cover they spread under the trees, despite the wind and cold weather, and stuff them into sacks.
