Wando-gun in Jeollanam-do, South Korea, is focusing on cultivating regional-specialized crops to produce high-quality horticultural crops and increase farm household income. The region is concentrating on creating a production, processing, and distribution base for specialized items such as citron, loquat, grape, and tangerine. The citron cultivation area is 197ha, and about 2,800 tons were harvested last year. Wando is promoting stable production of horticultural crops in response to climate warming and is operating a complex experience hall as part of the 6th industrialization project. The region is also promoting and selling processed foods such as loquat wine, concentrated juice, loquat leaf tea, and vinegar to improve farm household income.
