Wheat harvest has higher productivity, but smaller area

According to data from the 1st Survey of the 2025/26 Grain Harvest, released this Tuesday (14) by the National Supply Company, the national wheat production is estimated at 7,698 million tons. The volume is lower than that recorded in the previous harvest, reflecting a 19.9% contraction in the cultivated area, driven by less favorable conditions at the time of the planting decision. Despite the annual reduction, the survey points to a slight 2.1% increase compared to the previous estimate. According to Conab, this growth is due to "the increase in productivity in Santa Catarina and Paraná, as a result of more favorable climatic conditions so far."
