Ghana is set to boost its rice production through a new partnership with South Korea, aiming to develop 100 hectares of mechanized and irrigated agricultural land at a cost of $27 million. The project, funded by South Korea and implemented over five years in collaboration with Ghana's CSIR and KOPIA, aims to produce over 1,200 tonnes of quality rice seed annually. The initiative is a continuation of earlier partnerships with Thailand and Austria, focusing on improving agricultural efficiency and enhancing food security in Ghana.
