The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in South Korea is planning to expand the designation of the second key quarantine management district to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF) following an outbreak at a pig farm in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do. This expansion will include 44 cities and counties in northern Gyeonggi Province, Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, and North Gyeongsang Province. The ministry will also continue enforcing measures such as culling, cleaning, and disinfecting farms, and operating disinfection facilities and control posts in the Gangwon region. Farmers have been asked to inspect for any quarantine blind spots and ensure thorough control and disinfection.
