In the first quarter of 2022, Trabzon, Turkey, saw a significant increase in hazelnut exports, reaching a value of $169 million and a volume of 34,922 tons. The main importers were Italy, Germany, Poland, France, and Brazil. The Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association (DKİB) remains optimistic about the potential for further growth in hazelnut exports for the rest of the year, attributing this to improved consumer trends in chocolate products and a broadening market for Turkish hazelnuts.
