Egypt's dried apricot imports reached 18 million pounds by the end of 2023

Dried apricots are classified as one of the basic and important ingredients for citizens during the month of Ramadan, and they witness a remarkable demand among citizens consuming Ramadan Yamish products during this month due to their reasonable cost among other products, so their consumption witnesses a significant increase during the holy month. Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics show the development of Egypt’s imports of dried apricots by the end of 2023, as the total value of imports reached about 18 million and 898 thousand pounds, distributed among three main countries: Turkey, Greece, and the Emirates, respectively. The value of dried apricot imports from Turkey amounted to about 14 million and 875 thousand pounds by the end of 2023, followed by Greece with about 4 million and 21 thousand pounds, and finally the UAE with about one million and 282 thousand pounds.
